JAM 21: Trapeze

Today’s animation started out as a doodle of something else, but I thought it looked like the balancing poles at the circus from above, so I decided to try an animation about a trapeze artist. :)

This was made in MS Paint and Animation Shop 3.11. This will be my standard drawing combo from now on, I think. :) You can view the animation in a higher resolution at my deviantART page.

I just realized I posted this on the wrong blog. Well, I guess that’s the perfect time to mention my new art blog, which can be found here.

Hello Again!

I haven’t updated this blog for a while, since I moved to wikidot. I have decided to continue using this blog for my travel log, so I’ll still be updating here. :)

I have been to quite a few more places since I last updated, so I’ll be updating it today. I also finally got to go one place I always wanted to go: A Renaissance Fair (Sterling Renaissance Festival). That was a lot of fun, and I hope to go next year, and bring my license with me so I can have a giant turkey leg and some mead! :)

Happy Easter!

happymaxHappy Easter!  Here’s another Easter drawing I made.  Max is probably the hardest character I’ve ever come across to draw.  I’ve tried many times over the years, both on paper and in MS Paint, and I’ve never gotten it right.  He’s still a little off dimension-wise, but I’m proud of how he came out.

Melissa and Matt’s birthdays fell right before Easter on Friday and Saturday, so we’ve had a celebration weekend.  I made a birthday present cake and a fruit arrangement for Melissa.  I’ve wanted to do both for a while, so I finally got a chance to do it.  I made marshmellow fondant for the cake, like the professional cake decorators use, so I could make the ribbon and bow.  It came out really nice, and the fondant tasted like candy, so that was good too, although a little chewy.

Updates! Yay!

Well, two years in a row I didn’t get too far with the holidays! I do like the idea of celebrating a holiday every day though! I’ll try again next year!

I’m getting back into taking photographs again now that the weather is getting warmer. I added two pictures to the Elmira page, and added a Big Flats page to my Travel Log. :)

National Cut Your Energy Costs Day

Today is National Cut Your Energy Costs Day.  We just had a huge Gas & Electric bill for December, so it’s definitely a good time to try to reduce our energy costs.  Out of the ways to cut home energy costs, we’re currently doing two of them.  We just got a new refrigerator and my desktop PC has the “energy star” sticker.   My mom always buys the more energy efficient light bulbs.

We could definitely do a few more of those pretty easily though.

Balloon Ascension Day

Today is Balloon Ascension Day. The first American hot air balloon launch happened on January 9, 1793.  As you can see from my mom’s blog, she loves balloons.  She has never been in a hot air balloon, but it is one of her life’s goals to one day ride in one.

Elvis Presley’s Birthday

Today is Elvis Presley’s birthday. On January 8, 1935, Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. The King of Rock n Roll is definitely the most imitated performer of all time. I was watching a special on the Travel Channel during Christmas about the most extreme Christmas celebrations in the United States. One of them had thousands of people dressed up as Santa Claus in Las Vegas. There was an Elvis impersonator there who said “this is the only time where there are more Santa impersonators than Elvis impersonators in Las Vegas.” Heck, Elvis is so popular still that there is even an Elvis impersonator who makes it all the way out to my neck of the woods, thousands of miles away from Vegas.

So, today I’m going to celebrate Elvis Presley’s birthday by watching a movie starring my favorite Elvis impersonator, Stitch. :)
